History
Jim See grew up in southern Wisconsin. His free time was spent hunting and fishing around Lake Wisconsin. In the late 90's Jim's passion turned toward long-range hunting and he spent a considerable amount of time in the western US, harvesting elk and deer at extreme distances.
In 2005 at the age of 35, Jim set out to become a Custom Rifle builder, he attended the Machining program at Chippewa Valley Tech, and NRA Gun smith courses at Trinidad State in Colorado. Center Shot Rifles was born in Pittsville Wisconsin where Jim built hundreds of precision rifles for competition and hunting. During this time, Jim honed his shooting skills in F-class, winning a Wisconsin State Championship as well as National placing. Jim operated successfully until 2013, when Jim took a position with Surgeon Rifles.
Jim was a vital part of furthering Surgeon Rifles brand; as a rifle builder, Jim constantly looked at the products and processes for improvements. This drive for perfection leads Jim to implement changes in action design that result in functional improvements. Jim's success in this area directs him into the challenge of designing a new line of actions for McMillian Rifles, a partner company under the same ownership. Jim joined the Surgeon Shooting Team and continued shooting Precision Rifle Series matches around the country while promoting the Surgeon brand. From 2012 to 2015 Jim finished each season finale match in the top 10. In 2015 Jim won both the Bushnell Brawl and the Heat Stroke Open and finished the year ranked 6th in the Nation.
Jim's most recent move to Decorah Iowa afforded him the opportunity to work on his own again. Elite Accuracy LLC was formed. Jim is providing training based on precision rifle competition and long-range shooting. The Elite Accuracy shop will continue to build precision rifles, both under contract and for individuals.
